Cicely Courtneidge

Biography

Dame Esmerelda Cicely Courtneidge (1893–1980) was an English actress, comedienne and singer.

She married comedian Jack Hulbert in 1916, and they were married for 62 years, until his death.

Countneidge was created a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 1951, and raised to Dame Commander (DBE) in 1972.
