Malcolm Atterbury

Biography

Malcolm Atterbury was a cinema, stage and vaudeville actor who was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

After working as a radio station manager, he went into vaudeville, then into stage work in both musicals and dramas, gaining a reputation as a solid and reliable stage actor. He made his film debut in "Dragnet" (1954).

A versatile and popular character actor, Atterbury is perhaps best remembered for his role in "North by Northwest" as the man who says "That plane's dustin' crops where there ain't no crops!" to Cary Grant.
