Eric Ambler

Biography

Eric Clifford Ambler OBE (1909–1998) was an influential British author of spy novels.

In 1943, four of his previously published novels were included in the volume Intrigue: The Spy Novels of Eric Ambler for which Alfred Hitchcock wrote an introduction.

Ambler married Hitchcock's former secretary Joan Harrison in 1958.
