Alfred Hitchcock will produce a story based on the best selling novel "The Short Night" after he completes "Topaz," his latest picture which begins filming this month.

"The Short Night" is an adventure drama set in Finland which will use three stars for the roles of an American newspaperman, a notorious spy and his wife. Hitchcock purchase the rights from novelist and playwright Ronald Kirkbride.
