Dietrich jewel to go on block

A ruby and diamond bracelet owned by Marlene Dietrich and worn by her in Alfred Hitchcock's 1950 film Stage Fright will be offered at auction this fall, a spokesman for Sotheby's says.

The bracelet, estimated to sell at between $300,000 and $400,000, was designed in France and constructed in 1937 from a Cartier necklace and other jewelry, the auction house said.

After the actress wore it in Stage Fright, according to her family, she put it in the vault and never wore it again, keeping it out of the public eye for last 40 years, Sotheby's said.

Dietrich, for over 50 years one of the most provocative and revered screen actresses of our time, died this spring in Paris just after her 90th birthday.
