Director Alfred Hitchcock, who acts as his own good luck talisman in films by appearing for a brief moment in each one, will be seen as a dandy of Sydney, Australia, in the 19th century in his latest Technicolor production, "Under Capricorn," which stars Ingrid Bergman and Joseph Cotten.

Many fans refused to believe that Hitchcock appeared in "Rope" — the film with only one background and little more than half-a-dozen players — but he was there. His was the profile on one of the neon signs!
