A screen translation, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. of the London Alhambra stage triumph. The wider scope of the moving picture camera has made a more pretentious offering of the film than the limited scope of the stage could provide. The melodies of Strauss have been introduced into the film in a very skilful manner, and the story, although slight, is intriguing. Jessie Matthews, Edmund Gwenn and Fay Compton have the principal parts.
